In 1926 at the age of 11, Vincent Persichetti wrote a work for solo piano that came to the attention of VPS President Larry Alan Smith last fall. The Theodore Presser Company has published the work, and pianist Mirian Conti will give the world premiere. The piece is remarkable in its maturity. Vincent Persichetti was a virtuoso pianist, and this short work gives us a glimpse into his prodigious abilities as both a composer and performer.
